                                                                                                                MD-609G APPLICATION GUIDE

MD-609G is an industrial grade, field proved smart GPRS data terminal with embedded TCP/IP protocols for M2M applications. It offers standard RS232 or RS485 interface for system integrators and OEMs to connect other devices.

MD-609G is based on ARM 7 platform, embedded Linux system. It has RS232/485 data interface for configuration and data transfer.

It can be easily connected to RTU, RLC, IPC or other types of devices, providing transparent remote data access through GPRS network and Internet. MD-609G has been widely used in vertical M2M applications including ATM, vending machine, environmental monitoring, water conservancy project, industrial control, AMR, street lamp control, traffic monitoring and many other fields.

APPLICATIONS
Point-to-Multipoint
- In many cases wireless GPRS network is be a better choice than wired network to transfer data between the center server and the remote devices. At each spot, data is collected from the serial port on MD-609G and then sent to the center server through GPRS network and Internet. The following diagram shows the structure of a point-to-multipoint solution.

Point-to-Point Connection (COM to COM) - When the Internet is not available at both the spot and the center, one can choose the point-to-point solution. In this type of configuration, the data center and the remote devices are connected through GPRS directly. The following diagram shows the structure of the point-to-point connection.
